I recently bought a built 427 shortblock out of an estate. The engine was built with very high end parts and had never been started. The block was a 1970 casting which was more suitable for a 454 restoration. I decided to tear the engine down and sell the individual components. This is a factory GM high performance harmonic balancer for 396 and 427 Big Block Chevy engines as well as others with neutral balance. This is the 8 inch version used on factory high performance solid lifter applications. This NOS balancer was installed on the 427 engine described above which was never started. It is in very good condition as shown with light surface corrosion. The only flaw I see is some deterioration on the rubber on the backside that look to be rodent chewed and will no effect function or show when installed. This is a very nice factory high performance harmonic balancer that has never been run.
